PART 2 - (Chris Gray) Delta Industrial’s newest Sales representative for the Kentucky office, Chris Gray, is a 1994 graduate from the University of Kentucky, College of Engineering with a BS in Civil Engineering. From 1995-1998 Gray worked as a Project Engineer/Project Manager for Baker Concrete Construction, Inc. 1998-2001 was Vice President of Business Development Jostin Concrete Construction, Inc. From 2001-2009, Gray worked for Cornerstone Concrete Construction, Inc. in multiple capacities including estimating, marketing, business development and project management.

Auburn, WA

Auburn, WA. - Delta Industrial designed and built a foundation for a Linx machining center for A & G Machine Incorporated. Delta was to build the foundation for a Linx machining center located in an old riverbed, near potential volcanic activity. The company’s skilled engineers designed a substructure that could withstand a natural disaster and prevent any shifting of the machinery that produces precision parts with extreme tolerances as small as ten thousandths of an inch.

Rochester Hills, MI. - Delta Industrial has completed extensive foundation work at the new Copper and Brass manufacturing facility. The work performed included the design and construction of several foundations and pits of varying sizes for band saws used to cut materials up to 18 inches in diameter. In addition to the pits, Delta’s engineers designed and built trenching for cooling solutions and electrical supplies for the equipment along with a conveyor system to carry away metal fragments.

Dearborn, MI. - Working non-stop, in a challenging cramped space, Delta Industrial completed a critical construction project for Delaco Steel Corporation. The foundation of an existing crop-shear press was rapidly deteriorating – threatening employee safety and the manufacturing schedule. Delta’s team of professionals arrived at the plant on Thursday afternoon at 3 p.m. Delta finished the demolition, constructed a new rebar reinforced structure and poured the foundation. By Saturday afternoon, the shear was back on line and fully operational.

Ferndale, MI. - Delta Industrial designed and built a foundation for a new tank farm for Gage Products Company. Delta’s professional engineers choose to use an eight percent micro silica concrete mix. The process greatly strengthened the containment wall and slab to prevent deterioration in the event of a spill or leak. This process also enabled Delta to reduce construction costs and shorten the build time by several weeks. Delta also designed and built a new loading dock.

Chesterfield, MI. - Delta Industrial has instituted a Green initiative to reduce energy use and costs. Delta has a new fleet of Ford Fusions for their sales staff, a GPS tracking system has been installed on all company sales, supervisory and construction vehicles. Delta has reduced fuel consumption; savings have been reinvested thus reducing project costs. Jeffersonville, OH. - Delta Industrial designed and built a press foundation with accessory pits for scrap metal conveyors, and electrical and mechanical lines for TFO Tech Company Ltd. Using their extensive construction experience, Delta altered the original design plans slashing costs and construction time in half! The project required excavation of a 24-foot deep pit. Crane columns located near excavation had to be supported during construction. When the press was set into place, NO adjustments were required.

Bryan, OH. - Delta Industrial has completed construction on a new 220,000+ square foot manufacturing plant for Titan Tire. Delta began the massive project with the installation of the concrete building column footings and the exterior wall-column base plates. The critical second phase of the operation involved the design, construction and expert placement of 30+ foundations, ranging in depth from 12-inches to 30 feet to accommodate a diverse variety of equipment used in the manufacturing processes

Belleville, MI. - Preconstruction soil testing for the installation of a 2,000-ton press at Wellington Industries, revealed a water soaked sand base that was insufficient to support the press install. Construction began by removing the sandy soil and pumping out excess water. To ensure that the press pit would not deteriorate over time, Delta used a unique epoxy based, nonshrink grout that is 5 times stronger than concrete.

Imlay City, MI. – The Steel Shop constructed the expansion and connecting corridor to the original Vlasic structure. The construction was completed without interrupting operations at the processing plant. Extraordinary caution was taken to prevent debris from entering the processing area of the plant during construction. Through an innovative use of road reinforcing material, Delta and The Steel Shop were successful in accomplishing the task on time and within budget.

Detroit, MI

Detroit, MI. – The Steel Shop overcame a unique problem to complete construction of a new cold storage building for Rocky Produce located in the Food Terminal, at Eastern Market, Detroit. The Steel Shop’s project engineers incorporated specific structural designs that enable the building to be kept at a -20° below zero temperature, simultaneously insulating the ground in order to prevent heaving.

Port Huron, MI. – The Steel Shop proves, once again, that they can do more than your typical project. The company designed, fabricated and installed trolley beams for rigging equipment to handle maintenance issues in order to reduce down time at the Domtar paper plant that produces over 116,000 tons of paper per year. The construction was completed without interruption to the plant’s production.

Athens, TN. – In order to reengineer a portion of the E & E Manufacturing plant, The Steel Shop’s skilled craftsmen had to remove an existing building column and reinforce the roof to make way for the heavy machinery needed to construct the press pit and install the press. Not only did they successfully complete that project but they also designed, fabricated and installed a mezzanine for the press controls and electrical service lines.

Auburn Hills, MI. – The Steel Shop has completed two construction projects for Esys Engineered Systems. The company’s in-house engineers designed and fabricated special stainless steel auto testing equipment stands for testing automated machinery controls. In addition, they fabricated a screened safety enclosure and platform surrounding a robot assembly area being built for General Motors.
